INFORMATION ON TOURISM PERMITS:

TOURIST: All foreigners that enter the country with entertainment, health, business, family, religious, or any other similar purpose, will be granted the status of a tourist and that do not have the purpose of immigrating, establishing residence or the development of remunerated activities.

Regarding tourism, there are three basic statuses that may be requested: Tourism Expansion beyond a period of 90 days, the Extension of Tourist Stay, and the authorization to work as a tourist.

In the case of tourists entering the country with the purpose of developing activities involving artistic purposes, they must be represented by natural or juridical person that complies with the requirements of the Ministry of Interior to develop these activities.

CHILE-PERU AGREEMENT. AUTHORIZES ENTRY OF PERUVIAN TOURISTS TO THE COUNTRY

BY EXEMPT RESOLUTION N° 3734, OF AUGUST 4, 2005, OF THE UNDERSECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR, ENFORCED AUGUST 6, 2005, AUTHORIZATION TO ENTRY THE COUNTRY WAS GRANTED FOR TOURISTS OF PERUVIAN NATIONALITY CARRYING VALID NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION PAPERS. THIS DOCUMENT MAY BE USED ONLY WHEN HAVING THE STATUS OF TOURIST. THEREFORE, SHOULD THE TOURIST DESIRE TO OBTAIN A RESIDENCE PERMIT IN CHILE, THEY WILL NEED A VALID PASSPORT.

CHILE-BOLIVIA AGREEMENT. AUTHORIZES THAT BOLIVIAN TOURIST MAY ENTER TO CHILE.

BY EXEMPT RESOLUTION N° 4775, OF 30 SEPTEMBER 2005, OF THE UNDERSECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR, ENFORCED OCTOBER 1st, 2005, AUTHORIZATION TO ENTRY THE COUNTRY WAS GRANTED FOR TOURISTS OF BOLIVIAN NATIONALITY CARRYING A VALID NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION CARD. THIS DOCUMENT MAY BE USED ONLY WHEN HAVING THE STATUS OF TOURIST: THEREFORE, SHOULD THE TOURIST DESIRE TO OBTAIN A RESIDENCE PERMIT IN CHILE, THEY WILL NEED A VALID PASSPORT.
